Responsible for the technical coordination, planning, execution, and management of NGAS-derived support and deliverables within the broader F-35 Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul and Upgrade (MRO&U) competency. Position involves significant collaboration with engineering, supply, operations, program office and customer stakeholders to conceptualize, develop, mature and brief/solicit government approvals of comprehensive retrofit projects. Develops corresponding Basis of Estimate documentation conveying technical scope and rationale for NGAS deliverables and labor projections. Other responsibilities include; manage approved/active and evolving modification/retrofit projects; participate in F-35 System Development and Demonstration follow-on retrofit planning and facilitation; support Production Aircraft Inspection Requirement (PAIR) candidacy/development efforts; support and review modification engineering, Time Compliance Technical Directive (TCTD) manuscripts and engage in associated verification events, and; occasionally stand-in for senior management and engineering staff at the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics facility at Fort Worth, Texas. Act as a liaison for NGAS stakeholders and contemporaries located in Redondo Beach, California to champion for and address time sensitive issues. May require intermittent, short-term travel to industry, government and military facilities. Candidate may be required to routinely work extended hours and weekends to meet program objectives. Must possess excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and experienced leveraging Microsoft Office suite applications. Position involves a wide range of influence and requires a resourceful, independent self-starter able to analyze and solve complex technical and logistical challenges involving solicitations of and commitments from various stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study is required

  • 5 years of experience within the aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul and upgrade (MRO&U) environment

  • Aircraft modification development, verification and execution experience

  • Proficient in Windows, MS Word, Excel, Project and Power Point

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

  • US CitizenshipPreferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated MRO&U managerial experience

  • MS Access proficiency (creating queries, forms, reports and code/VBA)

  • Understanding of Project Management fundamentals

  • Six Sigma Certification / Facilitation experience

  • F-35 Air Vehicle Familiarity

  • Excellent verbal, written and presenting skills
