Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems Sector is seeking a Manager of Business Development to lead F-35 Program business development and strategy for the Air Dominance Division – F-35 Business Unit at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics (LMA) in Fort Worth, TX.

The primary objective of this role is to lead the Northrop Grumman F-35 Program Business Development activities focused on sustaining and expanding program advocacy, developing, and closing new business in a key growth area for the company. The Manager will be responsible for leading the efforts to deliver an extraordinary customer experience to our domestic and international customers, infusing strategic focus and messaging into all elements of customer engagement, pipeline, and pursuits. The successful candidate will bring a rich experience set that supports the F-35 program’s current and future capabilities. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to engage effectively and efficiently with teams in a highly collaborative environment. The candidate will also demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Business Acquisition Process and proven customer engagement and pipeline development/execution success. This position reports to the Director of Business Development for the Air Dominance Division.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the day-to-day business development activities for the F-35 program and define new business opportunities that ultimately achieve the growth goals for the Northrop Grumman F-35 business unit.

  • Responsible for the development of the F-35 campaign, customer engagement and growth strategies in collaboration with the Business Unit, Division, Program, Functions and Cross-Sector teams.

  • Responsible for coordinating F-35 program campaign planning and execution with Corporate Legislative Affairs and Government Relations.

  • Lead strategy formulation and articulation, mission and capability analysis, advanced development support, functional collaboration, and communications strategies.

  • Conduct effective 360-degree customer engagement.

  • Creating, maintaining, and implementing a customer engagement strategy and senior customer visit plan across domestic military, government, and industry leadership. Creating and delivering an extraordinary customer experience with follow-up.

  • Develop, brief, implement growth strategies that supports the Division’s Long Range Strategic Plan (LRSP).

  • Knowledgeable in Customer Relationships Management (CRM) tools (e.g., Salesforce) while following the process standards of the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline and a minimum of 9 years of military, BD/capture or related experience; or a Masters degree in a technical or business discipline and a minimum of 7 years of military, BD/capture or related experience

  • Prior military USAF, USN or USMC F-35 pilot experience or fighter community

  • Experience with United States Air Force (USAF) and or United States Navy (USN) - Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process

  • Existing relationships with USAF, Navy, Marine Corps and/or USG customers & stakeholders

  • Hands-on experience in leading diverse teams and proven track record of performance

  • Willingness to travel up to 40% domestically and internationally

  • Demonstrated, effective communication skills, with the ability to use them in informing, presenting, negotiating and problem solving with a wide range of people and leadership

  • Track record of delivering differentiated solutions that have led to tangible new business growth

  • A result driven attitude and a proven capability of working in a collaborative environment across distributed locations and organizations

  • Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with USAF, USN or USMC F-35 – Operations, Maintenance, and Logistics

  • Experience with International Export (e.g FMS)

  • Strategic thinker with flexibility to operate outside military construct when required

  • Capable of communicating and building trust with executive level customers and internal executive leadership

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

Salary Range: $156,800 - $235,200

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
