Northrop Grumman Manager of Project Management 3 in Falls Church, Virginia

The Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services (ES) Sector is seeking a Manager of Project management to join our team of qualified, diverse leaders in our Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Division. ITS provides information technology solutions and services across Northrop Grumman, driving superior business performance through a robust, secure, cost-effective IT infrastructure which enables collaboration and strategic business partnering to foster innovation and technology.

This motivated individual will serve as a project management functional homeroom manager and provide thought leadership, strategy, and overall direction to a team project managers and report directly to the Program Operations Director within IT Solutions. The candidate will serve as the customer liaison / portfolio manager and be a member of the NGIS and NGTS CIO staff. The location for this position is located in Northern VA. Relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Lead and develop a direct team of 15-25 project managers located in multiple geographical locations and time zones that support the NGIS and NGTS sectors

Monitor project progress and key performance indicators for early intervention

Ensure successful execution of the project lifecycle for all assigned activities

Champion quality performance and delivery for all project phases and deliverables

Maximize alignment and utilization of homeroom resources

Champion change and innovation to support continual service improvement for the organization

Act as the Program Operations ambassador to the NGIS and NGTS PMO

Monitor customer satisfaction to ensure the team is meeting or exceeding the performance expectations of the sector

Foster a culture of accountability and predictability

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 12 years of relevant professional experience, or, 10 years of relevant experience and a Master's degree

Previous IT professional experience

Must have at least 3 years of experience as a Project Manager with an accomplished understanding of the full project lifecycle and key performance indicators

Experience in briefing and interfacing with executive leadership (i.e., President, Vice President and/or Director level) is required

Must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, a DOD Secret level clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, or a Master's Degree, in Engineering Management, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or Network Engineering (or similar STEM related discipline) is preferred

Broad background in IT Infrastructure, Business Applications, and IT operations

Experience providing strategic direction regarding IT products, processes, applications, and/or technologies

EVMS knowledge, skills, and experience

Experience leading a Customer-focused team

Previous experience managing people in a geographically dispersed location

Proven leadership and excellent communication skills with an ability to drive cross functional teams to action when working in a matrix organization

Familiarity with technical solutions, infrastructure implementations, process/project documentation, and/or liaison interfacings for large enterprise organizations

Demonstrated ability to lead through significant change management initiatives
