The Manager, Health and Welfare Benefits is responsible for leading the administration of health and welfare benefit plans, policies, and programs, including:

  • Manage health and welfare benefit programs and vendors, to include, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and group life insurance

  • Lead Annual Open Enrollment including project management, client acceptance testing, training internal teams on benefit changes, and assisting with communications to facilitate the process

  • Ensure benefit plan is compliant with all legislation

  • Lead annual audits and prepare annual plan filings and notices required by law (e.g., Proxy, FSA nondiscrimination testing, 5500 Filing)

  • Coordinate responses for employee claims and appeals with counsel

  • Manage administrative and process documents with third party administrator

  • Recommend new employee benefit programs and plans

  • Review and revise existing benefits forms, letters, and policies

  • Partner with benefit communications team create and update plan documents

  • Liaison for Payroll, HRIS, and other Human Resource team members

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 10 years progressive experience in benefits administration or related field (i.e. Benefits design, compliance and administration) with 3 years of managerial experience

  • Knowledge of benefits regulatory requirements in the USA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a dynamic, rapidly evolving organization strongly preferred

  • Ability to effectively communicate sensitive information at all levels

  • Demonstrate attention to detail/accuracy, and adapt to change/balance competing demands

  • Strong analytical and planning skills, with the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, track the progress of tasks, and complete work within deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
