Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Sr. Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist to join our team to support the Missile Products (MPD) and Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) business units.
The main location of the PS&C business unit is in Elkton, Maryland with smaller support sites in Ronkonkoma, New York and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The MPD main location is at Rocket Center, West Virginia with additional support at the Plymouth, Minnesota.
This position can be worked from a remote location away from these locations.
Position Summary:
Manages a purchasing queue of requirements for various Electronic components and Electronic Assemblies for key suppliers (commodities and specific suppliers TBD)
Supports Proposal activity as well as active program requirements
Manages PO process from all stages: Request for Quote(RFQ), Quote Analysis, Price justification, negotiations, purchase order placement and management of supplier delivery schedule post award, including invoicing.
Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations
Negotiates simple to complex terms and conditions including but not limited to Non-Disclosure Agreements, Subcontract Terms and Conditions and Teaming Agreements
Manages performance of subcontracts and ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations
Identifies and works to closeout subcontracts
Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as program managements, material program management, contracts, security and legal departments
In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors quality and reliability, as well as the ability to support required delivery schedules
Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities
Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to all necessary stakeholders and ensure that proper receipt is recorded
Manages and develops strategic/key suppliers

Basic Qualifications:
This position emphasizes skills and experience. Must have 14 years of experience in Supply Chain. Will also consider a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field with 10 years of experience or a Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field with 8 years of experience.
Great communication skills
Experience in supply chain, business management, contracts or other related field
Prior Procurement/Subcontracts experience
Knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements
Eligible to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated management/Leadership abilities
Good Organizational Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
Costpoint highly preferred, SAP or other ERP purchasing system experience
Knowledge of multiple contract types (T&M, Cost Reimbursable, FFP, etc.)
Experience with international/foreign procurements/policies
Experience buying complex Electronics such as Circuit Card Assemblies(CCA’s), Printed Wiring Boards (PWB’s)
Term Set negotiation experience
Progress payments and milestone billings experience
Salary Range: $103,200 - $154,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
