Northrop Grumman Cyber Systems Engineer 4 - Agile - Secret Clearance in Fairfax, Virginia

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer 4 with strong database and Agile delivery skills, to support the full lifecycle delivery and maintenance of an Agile Project Management tool hosted in the cloud. This position is located in Fairfax, VA.

The selected candidate will have a strong technical understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements of infrastructure and software components. Candidate works with SAFe/Agile practices, and should have experience supporting teams delivering deployable software. The candidate should have excellent oral and written skills, as he/she will interface with the customer regularly.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Performs technical planning, system integration, upgrade, verification and validation, cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for the system.

  • Removing obstacles to enhance tool efficiency and effectiveness, including reaching out to larger organizational network, or vendor for impediment removal; ensuring cross-team coordination to address integration of dependent systems

  • Coordinating, participating, and supporting meetings and reviews (formal/informal) including creating and reviewing briefing packages

  • Ensuring coordination and information flow occur between projects

  • Identify and maintain relevant metrics that help the teams assess progress

  • Providing guidance on best practices, and resolving problems to meet technical performance objectives for the tool

  • Supporting customer project managers in creating, drafting and /or reviewing project documentation and plans, and running reports to identifying inconsistencies

  • Ensure deliverables meet all relevant quality and security standards

  • System maintenance and enhancements (version upgrades, creating reports or developing and incorporating custom views in conjunction with the vendor)


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related STEM field and a minimum of 9 years related experience, Master's Degree and 7 years of experience, or a PhD with 4 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Familiarity with Agile processes

  • Knowledge of how to maintain cloud hosted software

  • Extensive knowledge of databases

  • Experience providing technical oversight, and problem resolution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AgileCraft

  • AWS administration experience
