Northrop Grumman Cyber Systems Engineer 3 - Cloud Networking TS/SCI in Fairfax, Virginia
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking an experienced Network Engineer with AWS experience to support an IT infrastructure network consolidation for a program in Fairfax, VA. The Cloud Network Engineer will be a member of the Engineering, Sciences & Technology (ES&T) Eastern Region homeroom. Our team is chartered with providing the skills, innovative technologies to design, develop, produce and sustain product lines across while providing a decisive advantage to our customer's missions.
The cloud network engineer will configure, integrate, install and test network systems making cloud-based solutions as transparent as possible to the customer. The cloud network engineers will also be responsible for creating and improving procedures and providing documentation. The candidates will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following tasks:
Develop techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs to include current and future capacity
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interface such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, bridges, gateways, etc.
Evaluate and report on new communication technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
Troubleshoot, upgrade and implement improvements to the entire enclave
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of5 years of related experience, a Master's Degree and a minimum of3 years of experience, a PhD, or a total of9 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Active TS/SCI clearance
Experience implementing a small to medium networking enterprise.
Working knowledge/understanding and analysis of data flows and OSI model
Experience with Cisco switches or routers
Experience with BGP, OSPF, multicast high availability, firewalls
Understanding of the process of migrating an on premise infrastructure to AWS
Experience with AWS networking such as VPC Peering, Subnet/Route Table creation and Sophos/Router creation and configurations.
Willingness to submit for a Polygraph Clearance
Strong working knowledge of IP address/Networking theory including common command line tools and commonly used ports to troubleshot and test network/connectivity issues
Demonstrated experience developing and troubleshooting applications on multiple platforms in an enterprise domain
Cisco Certified Network Associate Certification (CCNA) Routing and Switching (R/S)
Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification (CCNP)
Experience using SolarWinds network monitoring tool
