Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a PC Network Support Technician level 2 or 3 for our Elkton, Maryland location.

The Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and San Jose, CA.

Job Summary:

  • Provides technical support for computers and associated networks in a Windows environment.

  • Installs, troubleshoots, services, and repairs personal computers, network equipment such as servers, modems, , related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors.

  • Provides personal computer, hardware, and software support. Installs, services, and repairs personal computers and installs attendant software.

  • Connects personal computers and terminals to existing data networks.

  • Maintains trouble logs.

  • Instructs users in the use of personal computers and networks.

  • Investigates information, network, and communications needs of users, and makes recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases.

  • Performs basic PC and network software programming. Tasks include:

  • Provide hardware, software, and infrastructure support for facility systems such as access security, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) and fire alarm;

  • Provide AV (audiovisual) and other conference room support

  • Provide Network, LAN, Wireless, Telecom smart hands and system support that cannot be done remotely;

  • Provide server administration and smart hands support that cannot be done remotely

  • Provide hardware, software, infrastructure support for off-network/enclave unclassified computers and systems;

  • Provide support for unclassified computers in classified areas;

  • Provide managed and non-managed printer support;

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors providing specialized support both onsite and remote;

  • Document procedures and instructions as required;

Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a PC Network Support Technician level 2 or PC Network Support Technician level 3.

Basic Requirements PC Network Support Technician level 2

  • Associates Degree or commensurate experience.

  • 2-4 years overall work experience within a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be able to work modified shifts, overtime and weekends, if needed, and have some flexible working hours to staff production needs.

  • Ability to acquire a Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite.

Basic Requirements PC Network Support Technician level 3

  • Associates Degree or commensurate experience.

  • 4-6 years overall work experience within a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be able to work modified shifts, overtime and weekends, if needed, and have some flexible working hours to staff production needs.

  • Ability to acquire a Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Highly regulated (i.e. Defense, Pharma, Banking) Industry experience

  • Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word

  • Familiar with Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles

This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location. Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.
