Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team for JADC2 Special Project software development and the Hermes software lead. This team is part of the research and advanced development organization for exciting new next generation technologies. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA, operating on our 9/80 schedule meaning you will get every other Friday off. This position has some Hybrid work available.
Duties will include development of payload interfaces and command and control displays, software static code analysis, travel to customer sites and flight testing. This individual will have the ability to shape multiple efforts to align software architecture and implementation approaches and develop towards a common product line. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, the ability to build customer relationships and the ability to represent the team at customer meetings.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 12 years of experience; OR master’s degree in computer science or a STEM related discipline from an accredited university with 10 years of experience; OR PhD Degree in Computer Science or a STEM related discipline from an accredited university with 8 years of experience
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
Proficient in C++, Java with both front and back-end development experience
Experience with data processing of H.264, H.265, and NTIF products
Experience with OMS/UCI Experience with flight testing new payloads
Experience with micro-service architecture and writing mission critical software
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with data processing of MIE4NITF
Experience with statistical analysis of large data sets including standard score applications
Familiarity with command, control, and data dissemination of passive optical payloads with extremely large data collects
Experience interfacing/managing suppliers and presenting at customer events
Background in autonomy, pilot decision aids and unmanned platforms
String understanding of design/dependency constraints when developing systems for SAP programs
Salary Range: $171,000 - $256,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
