Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Senior Principal Communication Systems Architect Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The primary location for this position is in El Segundo, CA. This position can also support some work in the secondary location located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
The selected Sr. Principal Communication Systems Architect Engineer will be responsible for working with the appropriate vendors to investigate and integrate potential vendor communication products into the overall air vehicle. The selected candidate will be responsible for installed communications, system performance while meeting other Integrated Product Teams (IPT) air vehicle requirements (e.g. signatures, weight, maintainability, etc.), and develop detailed integration and risk mitigation plans. Will also track vendor performance (performance, cost, schedule and risk) and coordination with other IPTs as identified.
The Sr. Principal Communication Systems Architect Engineer will plan, work, and status to a budget; develop, review, and present materials to senior management and Customers; work across multiple IPTs for a system solution; and provide technical and managerial oversight to ensure high quality deliverable products (e.g. CDRLs, test models, manufacturing plans, etc.).
Technically evaluate (performance, cost, schedule and risk) of candidate vendor products and make recommendations for ultimate selection for incorporation into the air vehicle.
Serve as the primary technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for communications on the air vehicle.
Develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives.
Coordinate clear communication between and with other engineering disciplines
