Northrop Grumman Project Management 3 in El Segundo, California
Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector is seeking a Project Management 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman'sEl Segundosite Operations Project Management team, supporting manufacturing and program management activities for the F/A-18 Program.
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management, GSC, project team, and production line management. Reviews status of projects; manages schedules and prepares status and visibility reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, along with contractual obligations and requirements. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provides project leadership to integrate efforts of the project team, program management, functional homerooms, and line management. Project will be in support of issue investigations, producibility, and affordability.
Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules, prepares status reports, ensures appropriate communications. Assesses project issues and risks, and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer objectives.
Focal point for Engineering Change Management into the production line.Will participate in Engineering Change planning and change boards.
Provides support for Spares by creating an assisting with Request For Quotations, Orders, and coordination of delivery.
Supports Retrofit efforts with the Post Production Team and counterparts.
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
6 years relevant work experience with Bachelors; 4 years with Masters Degree
Ability to work in cross functional teams and interact with both managers and customers.
Strong Project Management, Leadership and Organization Skills
High competency in Microsoft Office
Ability to work in fast paced environment, multitask, and flexibility.
SAP MRP Knowledge
Ability to read engineering drawings
Aerospace and/or Defense Industry Experience
Proven track record of increasing responsibility throughout career path
Experience in multi-functional organization
