Northrop Grumman Program Manager (GBSD) - Consulting Level in El Segundo, California
The Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services Sector is seeking a Program Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse leaders in our Information Technology Solutions (ITS) Division. ITS provides information technology solutions and services across Northrop Grumman, driving superior business performance through a robust, secure, cost-effective IT infrastructure which enables collaboration and strategic business partnering to foster innovation and technology.
This motivated individual will serve as a Program Manager to advise, consult and oversee the production and delivery of large complex strategic priority program supporting large and/or multiple service lines within the Enterprise Services Sector. These programs have high risk and significant impact to the business and the goals of the enterprise. Most of these programs, have several projects aligned to the programs.
This position will report directly to the Director of Program Operations and lead the GBSD program or other similar assigned activity. The position is located in El Segundo, CA.
The successful candidate's responsibilities include:
Provide program management oversight for program execution and achievement of scope objectives including: quality, cost, schedule, technical and affordability goals
Advise and consult senior management on program objectives and activities
Lead program review sessions with Executive Leadership and customer to discuss program performance, issues, risks and opportunities
Responsible for directing the integration and coordination with all program stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient incorporation of changes affecting baseline program requirements. Typical stakeholders include Vice Presidents, VP-CIOs, Sector Presidents or CPC members.
Provide leadership and guidance to multiple projects or work streams that are an integral part of the program to ensure project is in alignment with company goals and objectives, as well as ensure compliance with all applicable company policies, procedures, directives and program objectives
Utilizes project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances on all aspects of the program to minimize risk, cost and schedule variances, and provide intervention on critical areas.
Although the program managers has no direct reports, they will inspire, influence and guide several members on the project team to ensure successful program execution.
Bachelor's degree and 20 years of relevant professional experience
18 years of professional experience with a Masters
15 years of professional experience with a PHD
Demonstrated experience using and understanding of the project management lifecycle and key performance indicators
Experience with program planning and risk/opportunity management
Demonstrated ability to establish strong relationship with customer
Experience leading a matrixed team
Experience managing high risk projects or system implementations.
Experience creating executive-level written and verbal presentations and communications
Ability to travel
Active DoD Top Secret clearance
Thorough knowledge of the EVMS, IPRS, and other financial reporting tools required
Experience leading a multiple dimensional team
Previous management experience
Project Management Certification
