Northrop Grumman Principal Cost Accountant in El Segundo, California

Northrop Grumman Corporation Enterprise Services (ES) Material Accounting is seeking a Cost Accountant knowledgeable in Material Management & Accounting Systems (MMAS) activities for its El Segundo, CA office. This position will interact with various sectors, divisions and technical staff to solve inventory issues.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizes SAP/Business Warehouse (BW) to perform material costing functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and procedures, disclosure statements and government regulations, including MMAS and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)

  • Performs analysis and make recommendations in support of sector inventory issues

  • Performs functions such as Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system data maintenance and cost and inventory analysis to ensure inventory accuracy

  • Supports 1ERP projects by providing analysis and testing

  • Supports audits and provide supporting documentation for data requests

  • Supports non-recurring initiatives as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field and 6 years' related experience or 4 years' of experience with a master's degree

  • Understanding of financial statements

  • Knowledge of MMAS process controls, business functions, material management and cost transaction systems

  • Experience with SharePoint, BW, and SAP

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of compliance audit standards for MMASS1/T1 clearances
