Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Systems Engineering Configuration Management Lead to join our diverse and talented team. The selected candidate will be a champion for transformation and change integration. The selected candidate will be required to have the ability to learn and understand industry Configuration Management practices, and Configuration Identification and Change Management processes, as well as understanding the Sector and Program principles, concepts, practices, and standards. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing strategy for the interaction between engineers, cross IPTs, suppliers, Production, Quality, and other technical leads with a focus on Configuration Management. The selected Candidate will contribute to high visibility activities and have opportunities to demonstrate integrated capabilities to sector leadership and high value customers.
This person will be responsible for leading a matrixed team of engineers and analysts from across functions. This position can located at either: El Segundo or Palmdale, CA. This position does require occasional odd shifts, weekend work and up to 25% travel between Space Park and Palmdale sites.
Assignment Manager to lead a team of 5 Systems Engineers (T03/T04) and 6 Configuration Analysts (A01-A05) across multiple sites.
F-35 Point of Contact for Configuration Management across all disciplines
Coordinator and integrator of Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and Logistics.
Develop strategy for interaction between engineers, Business Areas, IPTs, suppliers, technical leads, and responsible engineers focused on Configuration Management.
Process improvement for Configuration Management practices throughout the lifecycle of the product with a focus on tools and process automation.
Refine and/or create metrics and measurements to demonstrate effectiveness.
Collaborate with functional homeroom and business areas to include process, people, and tools.
Provide monthly status to F-35 Leadership and Functional Homeroom Leadership.
Drive Configuration Management roadshow/campaign to non CM disciplines
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 9 years of experience OR Master's Degree in STEM and 7 years of experience
Previous management experience required
Familiar with Configuration Management Practices
Strong technical writing and communication skills. Flexibility to evolving program environments.
Proven ability to communicate with suppliers and other IPTs.
Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 7 years of experience
Demonstrated technical leadership skills
Experience in Configuration Management
Experience in requirements development
Active DoD clearance
