Northrop Grumman Investment Analyst in El Segundo, California
Northrop Grumman's Investment Trust & Administration ("ITA") manages over $60 billion, placing it among the 10 largest US corporate pensions. The ITA team is dedicated to prudently investing the Trust across a broad array of asset classes including: public equities, fixed income, private equity, real estate, and other alternatives. ITA is seeking an Investment Analyst with a demonstrated interest in capital markets to join our investment team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Portfolio Management
Develop and maintain industry leading knowledge of investment strategies, investment management philosophy, and capital market developments
Meet existing investment managers to review performance, process, firm changes, and other areas as appropriate
Provide advice on strategic and tactical decisions on portfolio construction, taking into account funded status, liquidity needs, and team capabilities
Prepare market and portfolio performance to senior investment professionals and governance committee
Investment Sourcing/Due Diligence
Perform due diligence on existing and prospective investment managers
Calculate and analyze performance information using various analytical tools
Help source and monitor prospective investment managers and strategies
Draft and present investment recommendations to CIO and broader investment team
Other Responsibilities
Ensure investment activity is compliant with the policy direction of the Investment Policy Statement and other governing documents, the SEC, ERISA, and other regulations.
Assist operations team with managing administrators, custodian, and auditors
Maintain internal databases and seek enhancements to portfolio monitoring tools
Various ad-hoc functions as needed
Strong quantitative skills; strong written and verbal communication skills
Team player with high integrity, ability to work independently, and coordinate across various departments and investment strategies
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors with 3 years' of relevant experience; or 1 year with a Masters
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications:
Progress towards CFA/CAIA
Experience with pension, endowment, foundation or other plan sponsor or asset owner
Working history and understanding of ERISA and SEC regulations
