Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an exciting career opportunity for an Electronic Technician 4 - Advanced Coatings Applicator to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.
The selected candidate will perform a variety of duties in a Materials and Processes (M&P) Research and Development (R&D) Laboratory assisting Electrical Engineers in the development of microwave-attenuating coating materials and structural designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components.
Performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities, such as: design, test, checkout, fabrication, coatings application, modification, and assembly of electro-magnetic systems, prototype models or specialized test equipment.
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform spray application of conductive and filled elastomeric materials, routine electrical testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks.
Set up and test completed prototype units and sub-assemblies under operational conditions.
Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications.
Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.
Utilizes routine development or diagnostic equipment including conductivity, resistivity and thickness probes, surface roughness meters, color and gloss meters, and similar test apparatus.
Work closely with other Engineers and Technicians within a lab environment.

High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of panel and/or part coatings application experience.
Experience applying aircraft coating materials to panels and parts.
Experience performing electrical testing on coatings, such as, conductivity, resistivity, thickness, roughness, color and gloss.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government in-scope DoD Secret security clearance.
Experience applying coatings of conductive materials and loaded elastomeric materials.
A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance with current or previous Special Program Access (PAR/SPA).
