Northrop Grumman A/C Mech Structure in El Segundo, California
This occupation requires the layout, assembly, installation, and rework of aircraft parts, assemblies and skins including necessary incidental fabrication of pre-production, development or production aircraft. This position requires the individual to determine methods and sequence of structural assembly, installation, repair, rework, and modification operations on pre-production aircraft. Lays out, locates, fits, trims, assembles, and installs parts assemblies and skins where dimensions are critical and fitting is to exacting tolerance. Drill, countersink and rivet exterior skin panels where skin quality is critical. Works from all types of complex blueprints, E.O.'s and production illustrations; is often required to work without adequate tooling or on jobs where engineering and tooling information is incomplete. Completes any or all structural rework/repair, squawks, E.O.'s and part shortages. May be required to work in other fields incidental to, and in connection with, completion of assignment. May work with the assistance of lower classified employees; may assist higher classified workers on occasion. Direct and train other employees as assigned. Perform work of the level described herein, and interpret complex blueprints and use arithmetic involving decimals and fractions. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Must be able to utilize computer based systems to perform duties. May be required to work in confined space. Maintained required certifications and qualifications on area of specialization. Must be willing/able to work any shift or schedule.
*High School Diploma or Equivalent.
*Must have a minimum3 years related mechanical experience.
