Are you Ready to put your managerial experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense System wants you to join our team as a Manager, Information Systems Engineer (level 2) to provide objective-oriented direction and work assignment to team members utilizing management guidelines & general policies of the NG program located in Palmdale, Edwards, and Beale CA. This position is for Edwards CA.

You will act as a Control Account Manager (CAM), manage information system functions for planning, optimization, configuration, and integration of diverse Information Technology (IT) disciplines, and manage one or more information systems functions for a specific user group/functional area for a site, or the entire organization.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analysis, selection and modification of application software, installation of network hardware and software, and database management and integrity. Usually requires subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system characteristics.

  • Coordinates delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

  • Maintain a trained and ready staff capable of working across programs to provide surge support as necessary.

  • Preparing proposals and Bases of Estimates and managing to a SOW.

  • Interpret SOW to find most effective and efficient way to assist customers in finding solutions, both common and innovative.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with customers, peer group managers, and other stakeholders.

  • Responsible for developing training and career development pathways for assigned staff.

  • Prepares and standardizes processes to improve how we do business and trains staff to do the same.

Specific Duties include:

  • Analysis, selection, and modification of, Hardware, Software, Network and desk top solutions, RF Communications, and specialized IT weapons systems.

  • Requires experience and practical application of diverse IT solutions, operations, Configuration management and data documentation.

  • Manages, operates, and sustains complex IT systems to the customer.

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 years of direct relevant experience and a High School diploma or equivalent; A Bachelor of Science in an Information Systems discipline with 8 years of applied experience may also be considered.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Third Class Flight Physical Certification.

  • Ability to attain and maintain DoDI 8570 certification if offer of employment is extended .

  • Willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays and weekends.

  • Ability to meet medical requirements for worldwide travel.

  • A valid U.S. passport.

  • Ability to accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 120 days away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements to include required immunizations and vaccinations.

  • A current DoD Top Secret clearance, SCI eligible.

  • Willingness to submit to a polygraph.

  • Ability to obtain program access within minimal time frame.

  • Have good understanding of Earn Value Management System (EVMS)

Salary Range: $138,100 - $207,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
