AOA Xinetics (AOX), a wholly owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payload and Ground Systems Division Business Venture, is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications. We are seeking a Production Planner 3 to support manufacturing operations at our East Hartford, CT location.

Overview

Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Production Planner 3 is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize company’s productive capacity. You will use detailed tasks for operations from blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and other engineering releases to ensure timely execution. You will create work orders and track them through completion. You will work with inventory control to support build requirements and provide status of completed and in process work. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to provide production control support within a high growth, fast paced work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate production workflow for multiple programs and products

  • Prioritize operations to ensure customer schedule and requirements are met

  • Create production work order documentation for release to the shop floor

  • Manage production inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased to meet production schedules

  • Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand

  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption

  • Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)

  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports

  • Compile records concerning quantity, cost, and type of material received

  • Expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules

  • Use knowledge of production, procurement, and engineering departments to alert proper authorities regarding potential problems and appropriate remedial action

  • Keep paperwork organized and establish and adjust priorities for specific customer orders

  • Collaborate with quality control, inventory, and other internal stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and four years of experience working in inventory planning or materials requirements planning (MRP), or similar role within a highly technical manufacturing/production work environment

  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions.

  • Strong collaboration skills to partner with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. technicians, engineers, principal level engineers/scientists and customers)

  • Advanced MS Office Skills (Word, Excel and Power Point)

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Bill of Materials (BOM)

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, self-starter and team player with excellent problem resolution skills

  • U.S. Citizenship is a bona fide requirement

  • Active Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related technical field

  • Advanced proficiency in Material/Inventory Planning Software skills (e.g. MRP, SAP)

Salary Range: $62,900 - $104,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
