Overview
As a designer of printed circuit boards at AOX, you will create multilayer high-density printed circuit board designs using Siemens/Mentor Graphics tools (PADS PCB Layout, PADS Professional, Autorouter, etc.) per electrical and mechanical engineering input. You will be part of a team of electrical engineers and designers developing electronics for R&D projects, engineering prototypes, and production ready designs.
The ideal candidate will have experience laying out mixed high speed digital and analog circuits, power supplies, FPGAs and microcontroller circuits.
Role and Responsibilities:
Perform detailed layout design and documentation of printed circuit boards
Establishes all electrical functionality (current carrying, isolation requirements, stack-up, etc.)
Prepares all necessary artwork /electronic data required for complete board fabrication
Produce 2D CAD drawings for board fabrication and assembly
Produce 3D models of boards for mechanical integration
Work from schematics, net lists, part lists, and basic description of the board function, constraints, configuration, and arrangement as defined by engineering
Create and maintain electronic library parts, geometry, decals etc. per IPC standards
Work under minimal supervision
Interface with EE and ME staff for design development and solving board level related issues
Basic Requirements:
Associates Degree in electronics, electronics engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline and 5+ years PCB design experience, or an additional 2 years experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Experience in designing HDI PCBs
IPC CID certification, with CID+ preferred
Experience with Analog, RF, High Speed, and Switch Power Mode supply design layout techniques
Impedance control techniques
Experience in the design of boards to IPC-6011/6012, Class 2 and Class 3 standards
Experience in the PCB assembly of J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610, Class 2 and Class 3 standards
Excellent organization and communications skills
US Citizenship is a bona fide requirement
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using Siemens/Mentor Graphics layout tools including PADS Pro
Experience using AutoCAD or SolidWorks
Experience managing parts libraries
Salary Range: $79,800 - $133,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
