AOA Xinetics (AOX), a wholly-owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payload and Ground Systems Division Business Unit, is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications. We are seeking an Opto-Mechanical Test Engineer for our Special Programs team in East Hartford, CT.

Overview
The Opto-Mechanical Test Engineer is an integral part of our team of engineers and scientists in supporting various tasks related to implementation, use, and setup of electro-optical and photonics based work stations and test systems. Stations and systems include, but are not limited to optical assemblies, mechanical assemblies, measurement equipment, electronic boards, and various other sub-systems. The engineer will support technical problem solving, test definition, test result data compilation, equipment selection, and integration. The position will work in support of research, development, engineering, and business development efforts under general supervision.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, with a minimum of two (2) years work related experience with electro-optic instruments and/or opto-mechanical test benches, OR four years additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience with computer operated test setups and systems
Experience with National Instruments hardware products, equipment, and drivers
Experience working in multi-discipline teams
Hands-on approach to problem solving and troubleshooting
Good verbal and written communications skills related to technical approaches, work performed, test results, and findings
Proficient with MS Office and basic DOS commands, including Ethernet and IP settings, and remote desktop support
US Citizenship is a bona find requirement as applicants selected are subject to a government security investigation
Active Top Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Optical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand programming and NI DAQ/IO Hardware
Knowledge of RS485 standards
Experience using virtual machines
Experience using Xilinx Tools, Linux Operating Systems and Python
Familiarity with SQL Server, MS-Access, or other database utility
Salary Range: $79,300 - $118,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
