Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Contract Administrator to join its team of qualified and diverse individuals supporting the Tactical Space Systems Contracts team. This is a unique opportunity to build experience, mentoring relationships, and career growth by contributing to the Contracts role . This position is in our Dulles, VA office .

The Staff Contract Administrator will produce high quality Contract Management related products supporting the NGSP Tactical Space Systems Division (TSSD) programs. This position requires a basic understanding of DOD contracting, excellent communication skills, strong technology acumen in M365, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is a team player; but also, a strong independent contributor with strong leadership skills, demonstrated problem-solving skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

The Staff Contract Administrator will be required to deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines and handle multiple tasks. The Staff Contract Administrator must possess the ability to work well with others in high-stress high-volume situations, effectively interface with internal functional and program organizations, and meet the goals/objectives of the Integrated Missions operating unit.

Roles and responsibilities of the Staff Contracts Administrator include the following but not limited to:

  • Administers, extends, negotiates, and terminates standard and nonstandard contracts.

  • Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Advises management of contractual rights and obligations

  • Review and approve contractual documents for protection of the company's contractual/risk posture, satisfaction of contractual requirements and adherence to company policies and therefore a keen attention to detail is essential.

  • Planning and executing successful contract negotiations of a complex nature and achieving targeted profit rates as well as favorable terms and conditions while working with leadership to assist in meeting profit and cash goals.

  • Regular and proactive interface and effective collaboration with program, technical and operations organizations to provide guidance and direction based upon the requirements of the tender and resulting contracts.

  • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, offer guidance and work cooperatively with a multitude of organizations ranging from technical, program, finance, supply chain, export, and security

  • Demonstrate commitment and energy to meet customer needs with the ability to provide concise and effective communication through presentation, written documentation, or email format with different levels of Management is key.

Basic Qualifications for Staff Contract Administrator (Level 5):

  • Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of relevant Contracts, Subcontracts, or Procurement Administration experience, or Master’s degree and 13+ years of relevant Contracts experience.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to make recommendations and effectively bring projects to completion.

  • Ability to function independently and effectively with competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, hands-on secured environment.

  • Experience negotiating and administering various contract types of varying sizes and types of agreements with the DoD.

  • An In-depth knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and UCC as well as experience with different contract types

  • Advanced proposal development and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to travel, if needed

  • Strong technical acumen in M365 and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

  • Experience supporting ECPs and REAs

  • Extensive Proposal Support is a plus.

  • NCMA Certification (CPCM, CFCM and/or CCCM)

Salary Range: $136,300 - $204,500

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
