We have an opening for an Electrical Power Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be located in Dulles, VA or can also be located in Gilbert, AZ.

In this role you will support power subsystem work for deep space application. You will work with a team of seasoned engineers to evaluate applications of power avionics.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret requirements and apply them to the design and development of a power architecture

  • Complete power subsystem trade studies for best application from a technical, schedule and cost


  • Cross-Collaborate with multiple development projects and team members to reach common solutions

  • Lead the design and development of power avionics components

  • Lead proposals and costing efforts in support of power subsystem application for deep space exploration




Space System



Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 9 yrs of experience; Master's degree with 7 yrs experience; OR PhD with 7 yrs of experience

Experience with power subsystems, both low and high voltage

Experience with application of avionics components in cold environments

Experience in design, analyses, and/or application of power management and/or distribution electronic assemblies

Experience generating engineering cost estimates


Application of power subsystems for spaceflight application including manned spaceflight

Extensive knowledge of power architectures

Experience leading proposals
