This Systems Engineer role is located in Dulles, VA, supporting our National Security Space Systems programs that include technical roles at the mission, segment, and component levels. They span the entire program life cycle from early concept studies, design development, system integration/test, launch and early operations, mission operations/sustainment, and system disposal. Programs range from small feasibility studies to medium-sized on-orbit technology demonstrations and large-scale national systems.
The responsibilities of this role may include:
• CONOPS and Mission Analysis
• Systems Architecture optimizing ground system design, space vehicle design, processing and mission success
• Requirements Management
• Interfaces and Interface Control Documentation
• Systems Level Integration and Test for a ground system
• Verification and Validation
• Resource Logistics and Execution
This position will expose the candidate to equal parts technical competency, forward thinking ideas, and execution focus. This position requires a functional understanding of ground system networking, private cloud deployments, data and messaging busses, software deployment, and hardware deployment. This position utilizes abilities to interact in an organized and solutions-oriented manner, with external entities who are contributing elements of the integrated ground segment.
Bachelor's Degree in STEM or related discipline + 5 years of experience or Master's Degree in STEM or related discipline + 3 years of experience
Position may be hired at a higher level with a Bachelor's Degree + 9 years of experience or Master's Degree + 7 years of experience
Must have U.S. Citizenship with a current or active Top Secret level clearance with SCI
Previous systems engineering experience
Background working in software systems engineering
Knowledge of Space to Ground and Mission Architecture
Understanding of Agile software development practices
Understanding of open mission systems standards (OMS) and universal command and control interface (UCI)
