Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is seeking a Mission Systems Assembly, Integration, and Test Engineer to join our National Security Systems (NSS) - Space Systems Group.

Successful candidates for this position will work in a technical role primarily supporting Space Vehicle Integration, and Test planning and execution along with I&T personnel and the Space Vehicle's sub-element's technical teams for a first generation flight program. This role will require coordinating and leading efforts on the development of I&T test plans, procedures, identification and securing of facility resources and ground support equipment needed for this program. This position will be based at the NGIS's Dulles, Virginia campus and may require some travel. The candidate is the liaison between the systems, subsystems cognizant engineers, and I&T Staff. The candidate will also be the systems engineering focal point for the avionics and software development on the system, and coordinate with the software developers through development and testing. The Space Vehicle design is a first generation development for a new mission area with a complicated mission payload and communications payload. Successful candidates for this role will have an opportunity to see real flight hardware come together, process through space vehicle, segment level, and launch site processing for a 3 space vehicle concurrent build and launch manifest, and to be able to support the on orbit commissioning of the space vehicles.



Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors Degree in STEM Science Technology Engineering or Math or related are and five years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience leading small teams towards program milestones.

  • Experience with script development or testing

  • Ability to coordinate I&T planning and development with multiple organizations, including external partners.

  • U.S. Citizenship with an active or currentTop Secret/SCI Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with integration and test, specifically space vehicle bus and payload sub-elements.

  • Experience with test planning and procedure development.

  • Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to communicate with mission partners and technical stakeholders.
