Successful candidates for this position will work in a lead technical role in managing the program requirements and verification & validation effort for a space program in Dulles, VA in the NSS business area within the Space Systems Group and manage the requirements. This is a new joint effort between the NGIS and NGAS teams to develop a first of a kind spacecraft in an emerging mission area. There will be challenging requirements and interfaces to accommodate due to the complex and state of the art Mission Payload and Communications Payloads to be hosted on the platform.

As a core member of the Systems Engineering Integration and Test team, support the SEIT lead and embedded product Systems Engineering leads in the creation and maintenance of the program requirements database and interface requirements / definition documentation.
Manage an existing requirements baseline and serve as the primary interface with customers and stakeholders in the creation and adjudication of requirements / interface changes for current and future implementations of the system.
Ability to establish and oversee a collaborative DOORS requirements environment where all members of the Systems and Design teams are expected to actively work within DOORS for maintenance of all requirements information from derivation through verification planning and sell-off documentation.
Interface with the various spacecraft bus subsystem engineers to develop their respective requirements specifications and verification plans
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
This position requires a BS degree in Engineering or related technical field and 5 years systems engineering experience.
Space Systems Development or Operations experience
Requirements Management systems engineering experience.
Experience or familiarity with DOORS
Experience with requirements verification planning and sell off
Must have U.S. Citizenship with current or active Top Secret level security clearance.
MBSE knowledge to implement requirements baseline in Cameo
Space segment experience from early requirements development through assembly, integration, and test phases of a program
Spacecraft Bus systems engineering background
