Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Principal Financial Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Dulles, VA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare annual budgets and assess risks and opportunities

  • Develop and maintain financial models to assist with rate and budget management

  • Analyze trends and review Actuals to Budgets monthly with budget owners; update forecasts as needed

  • Prepare comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgeted funds and determine rationale for variances between costs and budgets

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly budget reporting, executive summaries, variance analysis, and presentations for management

  • Input budget forecasts into budgeting tool

  • Provide detailed financial impacts and affordability analysis as well as assist in conducting what if analyses for management

  • Monitor compliance of financial policies

  • Submit correction entries as needed

  • Set up IWOs and project codes as needed

  • Support regular ad hoc requests for analysis

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 6 years of relevant experience in conducting financial analysis in an operations environment and/or business management

  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel

  • Experience with FAR Cost Principles and/or CAS

  • Experience with financial forecasting and reporting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Project Management principles (cost, schedule, scope, quality)

  • Working understanding of program elements-of-cost; labor, material, subcontracts, etc.

  • Experience building relationships and rapport cross functionally

  • Experience delivering analysis and presentations to management/executive leadership

  • Experience using CostPoint and Cognos TM1
