The Security Director, Special Access Programs (SAPs) will oversee Northrop Grumman's Space Sector's SAP security programs and provide both Strategic and tactical security/program guidance to Space Sector. He/She will interact internally with program leadership and externally with senior level members of the DoD Security leadership and policy executives to ensure the sector's special programs strategy keeps pace with the government's expectations.

The Security Director, SAPs is responsible for developing and nurturing the sector's management, administration, and oversight of SAPs and the enabling policy, processes, and infrastructure as a strategic imperative while also supporting sector campaign and future programs security architecture and capture. As a direct report to Director, Space Sector Security, the Security Director, SAPs will be an innovative leader who can drive the sector's SAP strategy and implementation to its next level of maturity. He/she will partner closely with our government customers, the corporate Director Special Programs and SAP Coordinator, other sector SAP leads, enterprise converged networks team and the VP, Northrop Grumman Security. This individual must establish a modernized and sustainable strategy for SAPs aligned to business objectives and the infrastructure requirements to support them.

This will be a highly-visible role internally and externally. It will be important the Security Director, SAPs effectively delivers and executes a special programs strategy that will maintain the integrity of the business and the clients they serve.

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Continuously assessing needs; developing, implementing, and monitoring a strategic, comprehensive sector-wide program security strategy for Northrop Grumman Space Systems that integrates well into the corporate enterprise SAP strategy.

  • Collaborate with other Northrop Grumman Sector Security SAPCO's for uniform Northrop Grumman policy and consistency

  • Managing NGC Space Sub-Portfolio

  • Building strong relationships and partnering closely with senior leadership, especially within the security and information technology organizations, within the sector, across the Northrop Grumman enterprise and within the defense industry base in order to implement appropriate SAP initiatives.

  • Promoting strategic relationships between internal resources and external entities, including government, vendors, and partner organizations.

  • Engaging in special programs best-practice sharing with peer organizations and executive briefings.

  • Developing the sector's SAP team to grow to its next level of maturity and scalability.

  • Cultivating a high-performing team of engaged leaders who will continue to evolve to address the special programs needs of the company

  • Recruiting, training, and retaining a world class special programs team with particular focus on building a bench of best-in-class special programs leaders for the future.

  • Creating energy and enthusiasm at all levels related to the SAP strategy and implementation.

  • Working collaboratively with the various operating units to understand special programs issues, negative trends, and/or compliance challenges and, when required, interact with the government, on behalf of the sector, to address issues.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current, active US Government clearance at the Top Secret level with SCI access

  • 15+ years of security experience with a minimum of 5 years at the senior management and supervisory level with a Bachelor's degree; 13 years experience with a Master's degree

  • Experience in defense and intelligence special programs is a priority

  • Prior experience with special programs and secure information technology

  • Cross-functional experience with demonstrated success leading transformation change in large organizations is a priority.

  • Experience communicating SAP security related concepts to a broad range of technical and nontechnical audiences; will have to be an articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the senior leadership team.

  • Senior level understanding of MDA, DIA and DoD SAP Security Structure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep background in SAP and IT risk management and program protection.

  • Exceptional communication skills necessary to advise and influence the senior management and government officials.

  • Thorough understanding of special programs, including government governance models, policy, compliance, and existing and planned government infrastructure, applications, and tools that may be leveraged by the company.

  • A track record of assessing threat and vulnerability from a business as well as a technical perspective and the ability to develop and champion affordable, efficient and timely security architectures and solutions that support growth of the sector's business

  • Experience identifying corporate policies, processes, and procedures that are not optimally aligned with business objectives and recommending and implementing changes.

  • Strategic leader who can drive a vision for special programs while maintaining an execution-oriented culture driving results; an entrepreneurial spirit; ability to serve as a hands-on leader.

  • Strong influencing skills to get things done; a collaborative approach with the ability to partner with business leaders across the enterprise to overcome institutional resistance and achieve transformational change.

  • Proponent of continuous improvement process and the ability to challenge the status quo.
