We are currently seeking a Configuration Analyst to provide critical support to our Configuration Management team in our Dulles, VA office .
Role description & Responsibilities:
The Configuration Analyst supports Configuration Management (CM) activities of the Satellite System Division's Civil/ Commercial Satellite, and National Security System business units. The Configuration Analyst performs several essential functions of the CM department.
Job Duties:
In this role you will:
Analyzes and enters hardware part information into the material management system (Costpoint)
Controls and releases drawings and documentation using a Product Data Management (PDM) system (Windchill)
Responsible for analyzing drawing change requests, understanding the impact to the baseline configuration and next higher assemblies
Works closely with CM staff, engineering, flight assurance, and program office personnel to ensure that all CM processes are adhered to when carrying out the above job duties
Other CM activities as directed by configuration management staff
Skills & Qualifications: You should have/be:
Broad understanding of hardware Configuration Management Systems in an aerospace and defense environment
Knowledge of drawing types and engineering drawing practices
Strong skills in database use and data entry
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture

Qualifications:
This position can be filled at a level 3 or 4.
Basic Qualifications
Level 3
Must have a Bachelor's degree with minimum of 6 years of hardware Configuration Management experience in an aerospace and defense environment, or 4 years of experience with a Master's Degree
Practical experience with the following concepts: Configuration Identification, Configuration Change Management, and Configuration Status Accounting
Experience with PDM systems
Experience with material management systems, Costpoint a plus
Literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
US Citizenship w/ active TS/SCI
Level 4
Must have a Bachelor's degree with minimum of 10 years of hardware Configuration Management experience in an aerospace and defense environment, or 8 years of experience with a Master's Degree
Practical experience with the following concepts: Configuration Identification, Configuration Change Management, and Configuration Status Accounting
Experience with PDM systems
Experience with material management systems, Costpoint a plus
Literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
US Citizenship w/ active TS/SCI
Preferred Qualifications:
Applying Configuration Management requirements and concepts related to change effectivity a plus
Experience using Windchill PDM system a plus
CM experience in a manufacturing environment
