Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented Business Development Manager 2 to lead a team located in Dulles, VA.

The Science and Robotic Exploration Operating Unit's goal is to increase the probability of win in our core market and expand the bounds of the core. The position entails broadening our customer base by establishing new and maintaining old relationships with Principal Investigators at universities, NASA centers, and other institutions. The business development manager maintains communications across Northrop's Space Sector to bring added value to our customers.

The position requires a mixture of technical and business skills to enable the assessment of opportunities, including analyses of customer budgets, fit of opportunities, and top- level assessment of technical requirements. The business development manager is expected to provide leadership on RFI/RFP responses and to coordinate with engineering, contracts, costing, graphics, proposal production and management to deliver timely responses. A working knowledge of Microsoft office tools is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 years' relevant experience in project/business management and/or engineering including aerospace or system engineering

  • 2 years' lead or supervisory experience

  • Experience creating presentations, white papers and/or RFI/RFP responses

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in spacecraft systems engineering

  • Experience with NASA science programs

  • Experience writing proposals

  • Familiarity with NG spacecraft product lines. Experience leading small agile teams

  • Experience in the aerospace/defense industry

  • Active DoD security clearance
