Northrop Grumman Flight Operations Manager 2 in Douglas, Arizona

Northrop Grumman facilities in Douglas, Arizona is seeking a Manager of Flight Operations 2.

The successful Flight Line Site Manager candidate will be responsible for the performance of the Hunter Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) during all phases of integration, testing and flight envelope expansion at the Hunter engineering flight test facilities. The successful candidate requires extensive and in-depth knowledge of the Hunter UAS systems capabilities, limitations and operations. This role will have go/no-go decision authority for flight operations and will be looked upon as the Northrop Grumman Subject Matter Expert to the government customer for safe and effective Hunter UAS flight and ground operations.

Primary duties of this assignment:

Lead, mentor and professionally develop a team of 30+ flight test operations, maintenance, and support personnel.

Coordinate with various company and program department leads such as the business unit, depot, logistics, configuration management, supportability, integration and test, systems engineering, aviation standardization and quality.

Communicate and foster positive relationships with external stakeholders from local city and county government representatives, Cochise College leadership, DoD, FAA, DCMA and other Government agencies as required.

Manage personnel assignments and schedule support of a full spectrum of Hunter UAS system development, integration, regression, ground and flight test operations.

Oversee aircraft operator and maintainer training and adherence to appropriate government Contractor Flight and Ground Operations regulatory directives.

Ensure the team can successfully execute proposed engineering test and integration flights safely and within the UAS test flight envelope.

Monitor and continually improve Ground Operations Procedures (GOPS), Flight Operations Procedures (FOPS) and locale based Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Provide Cost Accounting Management (CAM) oversight of a complex budget to include routine program reviews, subcontracts, technical planning and cost/schedule execution.

Be capable of independent decision making.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Leadership or Aviation discipline; 10+ Years with 4 year degree or equivalent; 8+ Years with Master's Degree or equivalent; In lieu of formal education, 14 years directly related experience may be considered.

6 plus years of supervisory experience.

4 years' experience withHunter UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) or similar operations.

Active Secret Security Clearance required to be considered

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to build a high-performance team with a particular focus on program performance and employee development, engagement and retention.

Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with all levels of employees and management, including executive leadership.

Hunter Instructor Qualifications.

Comfortable working in semi-austere environments

Experience in flight test and integration operations

Experience with aviation maintenance best practices

Experience with TAMMs, COLTs & UAS-I

Experience as a Cost Accounting Manager within the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) environment

Experience with Subcontractor management
