Adaptive Optics Associates, Inc. (AOA Xinetics), a wholly-owned Northrop Grumman Payload and Ground Systems Division, is currently seeking a Production Control Technician 3 to support Massachusetts Manufacturing business activities in Devens MA.
AOA Xinetics (AOX) designs, develops, and manufactures precision, advanced optical products and systems such as deformable mirrors, optical systems, adaptive optics control systems and silicon carbide optical structures for the U.S. Government, commercial customers, and U.S. defense prime and second-tier contractors. Markets for these technologies include civilian astronomy and semiconductor capital equipment as well as defense ISR and Directed Energy. Several potential direct and adjacent application areas also exist. The Company has substantial growth opportunities in support of many U.S. Government and NGSS business initiatives.
AOX delivers industrial photonics systems and development services for a variety of customers and applications. AOX excels in a range of applications from adaptive optical systems, deformable mirrors, wavefront sensors, precision actuators, to photonic systems that acquire and process data in real time for a variety of high availability applications. AOX's capabilities include lightweight passive and active hybrid CERAFORM/CERAPRINT silicon carbide optics and precision structures as well as large and small precision opto-mechanical systems supporting electronics and sophisticated controls software.
Reporting to the Manager of Manufacturing, the Production Control Technician 3 plans sequences of assembly and other manufacturing operations related to specific portion of program and product deliverables; you will use detailed tasks for operations from blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and other engineering releases to insure timely execution; you will assist with preparing shop work orders from the materials group and manufacturing engineering; you will work with inventory control to support build requirements and provide status of completed and in process work. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to provide production control support within a high-growth, strategically important business for NG Payload and Ground Systems Division.
Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple programs and products
Prioritize operations to ensure customer schedule and requirements are met
Create production work order documentation for release to the shop floor
Assists in determining manpower required to meet schedule demands,
Work with materials planning to determine materials needed to cover production demand
Coordinate with program management and the manufacturing manager staffing requirements for production operations
Monitor jobs to ensure they will be completed according to production schedules
Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)
Prepare and submit status and performance reports
Complies records concerning quantity, cost, and type of material received
Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules
Uses knowledge of production, procurement, and engineering departments to alert proper authorities regarding potential problems and appropriate remedial action
Keep paperwork organized
Collaborate with quality control, inventory and other internal stakeholders
Associate degree in a technical discipline
3 years of experience working in inventory planning or materials requirements planning (MRP), or similar role within a highly technical manufacturing/production work environment
Strong collaboration skills to partner with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. technicians, engineers, principal level engineers/scientists and customers)
Advanced MS Office Skills (Word, Excel and Power Point)
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, self-starter and team player with excellent problem resolution skills
U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for employment
Bachelor's Degree business administration or related technical field
Advanced proficiency in Material/Inventory Planning Software skills (e.g. MRP, SAP)
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and light physical effort required
