Propulsion Systems is looking for an Engineering Technician 2/3 to support Promontory Test Systems Engineering at our Promontory, Utah plant. The plant is located near Brigham City, Utah.

Job Description:

Candidate needs to be able to troubleshoot and maintain electronic systems including repair and setup of video, audio, process controllers, test equipment, and data acquisition systems. Candidate will be required to review drawings, specifications and follow planning in support of various development projects. Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics as well as use a variety of electronic troubleshooting equipment. Candidate will be required to fabricate and checkout test systems. Great interpersonal skills with other technicians and engineers are required on a daily basis. Candidate must be willing to work overtime on occasion to meet testing requirements. Candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong attitude towards safety.

Experience Requirements:

  • Must be able to qualify for an Alcohol Tobacco and Firearm (ATF) "Explosives Possessor" designation.

  • Must be able to qualify for a Department of Defense security clearance.

  • Must be disciplined to follow detailed instructions and comply with procedures.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to create clear and understandable documentation.

  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.

Experience Preferred :

  • Strong electronics background and a fundamental knowledge of test systems including data systems, control systems, and other electronic equipment.

  • Computer networking experience (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).

  • Experience with Windows operation systems administration and deployment.

  • PC hardware knowledge, A+ certification preferred.

  • Experience in thru-hole and surface mount soldering as well as data cable fabrication.

  • Experience in set-up, fabrication, and troubleshooting of computer-controlled equipment.

Engineering Tech 2 Education/Certifications:

  • Associate degree in technical field or at least 2 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

Engineering Tech 3 Education/Certifications:

  • Associate degree in technical field or at least 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

Salary Range: $44,800 - $74,600

Salary Range 2: $53,300 - $88,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
