Training Curriculum Designer/Trainer
Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Tactical Space Systems Division – Integrated Operations Directorate is looking for Training Curriculum Designers/Trainers to join the Integrated Operations Training Department team. Curriculum designers create, manage, and maintain training products that will be delivered to customers in support of mission operations. As a curriculum designer, the selected candidate will be required to design and develop training material to support automated scenarios, mission exercises and certification check rides for the customer and internal operations personnel. Responsibilities as a trainer include teaching the lesson material developed. Trainers must have good public speaking skills and be comfortable standing and addressing a classroom. Other responsibilities include working with the Mission/Systems Leads to identify training needs and develop training plans and curriculum such as reference guides and evaluation tools. The Curriculum Designer(s)/Trainers will also work with mission operations personnel to ensure training curriculum and scenarios accurately represent current operational documentation used during on-orbit checkout, satellite commissioning, and execution of the primary mission.
Product deliveries include: Lesson Plans, PowerPoint Presentations, Training Videos, Hands-on Training Scenarios, Test/Quizzes, Student Guides, Training Plans, Classroom Instruction, and other training material as necessary to support contractual training requirements.
Must work collaboratively in a team environment across engineering disciplines to accomplish mission goals. Must excel in a fast-paced mission focused environment. Must be able to meet rapid development timelines.
Specific experience and responsibilities shall include:
Developing training material IAW Instructional System Design processes
Deliver training to customers in support of instructor led training events
Operating training simulators/systems in support of training activities
On-Console Command and Control Satellite Operations experience
Ground System anomaly troubleshooting and resolution experience
Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) experience w/ MS Office Suite products
This position can be filled as an engineer (level 2) or principal engineer (level 3) depending on experience.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Education or related field (Equivalent experience in lieu of education may be considered on a case-by-case basis)
Minimum of 2 years (level 2) or 5 years (level 3) of related experience
Minimum of 2 years of Space operations/training experience
Required clearance level: Top Secret at time of application, SSBI / SCI eligible
U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor of Science degree in STEM field
Web/video based training development experience
Lesson plan development experience
Simulation/scenario development experience
Test/Quiz development experience
Experience utilizing training development tools such as Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, Storyline 360, etc.
Rendezvous and Proximity Operations Mission Planning/Orbital Analyst Experience
Advanced Orbital Mechanics knowledge and experience
Salary Range: $79,000 - $108,000
Salary Range 2: $97,000 - $136,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
