Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector organization is seeking applicants for a position that will support the software development, management, and staffing efforts for the Integrated National Systems Business Unit in Colorado Springs. This management position will be performed in conjunction with a primary role on a contract within the Colorado Springs area or serving as part of an Independent Research and Development (IRAD) project. The successful candidate will already have one of these roles or have been selected for such a role.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading Software Engineering teams.

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage SW design/development across the INS organization for Colorado Springs, but also liaison with other SW managers within INS BU to share lessons learned, initiatives, mentoring and training opportunities, etc.

• Responsible for oversight of projects assigned within the SW organization.

• Solid knowledge of PRoP (Command Media) processes.

• Assess strengths and weaknesses of SW Department skillset.

• Manage staffing needs for SW organization across INS programs in Colorado Springs.

• Provide leadership that utilizes lean and agile principles.

• Monitor and maintain financial awareness of indirect time charging and other indirect costs, e.g. NG assets, etc. Champion appropriate bidding of correct labor/skills/rate mixes during proposal efforts.

• Position may require up to 5% travel.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 5 years or more of professional experience; or a Master's degree in a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role

• Proven track record leading Software Engineering resources allocated to medium-to-large size software development projects.

• Experience coordinating Software Engineering/System Administration resources within budget and scheduling constraints.

• Strong understanding of agile principles as well as other lean methodologies.

• Strong understanding of C++ and Python code base.

• Position requires U.S. Citizenship

• Must have a DoD Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Missile Defense, Missile Warning and Space Domain Awareness missions.

• Familiarity with mission level processing of phased array radars such as digital/signal processing, Receiver/Exciter processing, Operator Displays, multi target trackers, and scheduling.

• Professional Scrum Master, or Certified Scrum Master.

• Experience as a Control Account Manager, PMP

• Current Top Secret / SCI clearance

Salary Range: $127,760-$191,640
