Northrop Grumman is hiring a software engineer experienced in software development to support the modeling and simulation of missile defense systems for the Advanced Mission Solutions (AMS) Operating Unit. The successful candidate will design, develop, test, document and integrate simulation products for the Generation of Threat Hypersonic and Advanced Missile Models (GOTHAMM) IRAD using C++ and/or C# programming languages on Windows operating systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Design and developing software to include innovative capabilities to existing products, as well as developing new products that support threat modeling and simulation

  • Interfacing with GOTHAMM customers to solicit requirements

  • Presenting technical briefings to GOTHAMM stakeholders

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline with at least 2 years of experience (0 years with a Masters)

  • Proficient in C++, C#, Java, or similar programming language

  • Strong understanding of object oriented software development

  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Must have strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

  • Currently have, or able to obtain, a DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in engineering M&S systems using an optimistic and/or conservative discrete event simulation platform

  • Experience in agile software development methodologies like Scrum

  • Experience with JIRA and GIT

  • Knowledge/experience in several of the following: missile defense domain knowledge, user interface design, and modeling and simulation development.

Salary Minimum for Colorado location: $74,240

Salary Maximum for Colorado location: $111,360

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
