Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector is seeking applicants for a position on the Sustainment and Modernization of Radar Sensors (SMORS) program as a Senior Principal Engineer Systems. This position will focus on Agile development activities for the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) Precision Acquisition Vehicle Entry (PAVE) Phased Array Warning System (PAWS) (BPP). This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO, and some travel may be required.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Play an active, leading role in the implementation of supportability and new capability updates to the BPP

  • Support system requirements reviews and creating and/or updating requirement specifications and technical documentation

  • Generate, review, and update systems engineering documentation and collaborate with radar subject matter experts to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and complete

  • Provide innovative solutions to complex technical problems

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of systems engineering experience; or 6 years' experience with a Master's degree; or 3 years with PhD.

  • Interim DoD Secret clearance8

  • Familiarity or experience with Agile software development methodologies, i.e. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe

  • Experience in using a requirements management tool, such as DOORS

  • Familiarity with MS Office suite of tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

  • Familiarity with the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) Precision Acquisition Vehicle Entry (PAVE) Phased Array Warning System (PAWS) (BPP) or other ground-based radars such as the Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS)

Salary Range: $114,080-$171,120
