Northrop Grumman Reliability Engineer 2/3 in Colorado Springs, Colorado
Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs. Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. Complies and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives. May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks. As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability. May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.
Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines

Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects
Uses data to recommend maintenance interval changes and/or suitable replacement parts to extend time between maintenance.
(Level 2) 2 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree; 0 years of experience with a Master's Degree or 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
(level 3) 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD or 9 years of experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
Demonstrated ability to prepare and present technical data and analysis results.
Good communication and analytical skills
Must possess excellent technical skills in Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) and Life Cycle Cost modeling
Critical Thinking/Analytical Problem Solving
US Citizen w/DoD SECRET Interim Clearance required to start
Logistics experience with USAF/DoD weapon systems
Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis and products
Experience with REMIS/IMDS
Experience with RCM++ Reliability experience
DoD customer experience
