Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Administrator to join our team to join our Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit. This position would be based in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area. This role requires in-depth subject matter expertise with the VMware Tanzu application platform to create, run, and manage contemporary applications using Kubernetes. The selected candidate will be responsible for working with a team of SA’s, SW, and HW engineers to successfully implement and manage the VMware Tanzu application platform. This position requires extensive real-world use of the VMware Tanzu Application Platform to facilitate the development, operation, and administration of Kubernetes-based applications. The position is in Colorado Springs and requires the candidate to have the ability to work onsite. Job duties include:
Maintaining smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators
Interacting with users and evaluation of vendor products
Recommend hardware and software purchases
Installation and backup recovery
Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
Setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space

This requisition may be filled as either a Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Administrator.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Administrator
5 years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's degree; 3 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's degree. An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree (High School diploma or equivalent is required with additional experience)
Must have an Active Secret DoD security clearance at time of application
Experience with Red Hat Linux
Experience with configuring the Tanzu application platform
Successfully deployed Kubernetes for container orchestration
Tanzu/Kubernetes networking experience
Tanzu/Kubernetes authentication experience
Tanzu applicable storage and compute policy creation experience
Familiar with DevOps SW development methodology
Experience with hardening systems supporting cybersecurity requirements
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Systems Administrator
8 years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's degree; 6 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's degree. An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree (High School diploma or equivalent is required with additional experience)
Must have an Active Secret DoD security clearance at time of application

CompTIA Network+ CompTIA Security Salary Range: $88,600 - $133,000
Salary Range 2: $109,900 - $164,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
