The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved
SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29 .The NG-MIP program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service , for up to 180 days . The Northrop Grumman Military internship Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as Active-duty service members .
Responsibilities for this internship position are:
Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman - Military Internship Program (DoD SKillbridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for Skillbridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work
schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
Goals - Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.
Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly-trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission "Defining Possible" on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder
engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:
Has served at least 180 days on active duty
Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
Will receive an honorable discharge
Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Logistics Planner. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO . The selected candidate will be Principal Systems Administrator for the JTAGS Program supporting the Army at Colorado Springs, CO. Tasks include planning, preparation and execution of logistics support (procedures, obsolescence analysis, tracking, parts and LRU management, shipping and receiving of parts. Candidate will be responsible for inventory management and records maintenance of LRUs for JTAGS program. Performing a combination of manual and clerical tasks including asset management of all phases of material usage to include: procurement, receiving, documentation, storage, inventory/audit, issuing and retiring of equipment. Shipping and receiving duties may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Verifies quantity, weight and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations. May layout, fabricate and assemble nonstandard crating and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment. Performs data entry and maintenance on various computer systems. Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes. Delivers items from JTAGS storage to customer location or other areas as needed. Directly assist Government Property Officer with equipment procurement and accountability. Performs other tasks, varied in nature, as assigned. Position requires some periods of travel.
This position emphasized skills and experience. Must have High School diploma with 4 years of relevant experience working within the Logistics areas or Bachelor's degree with 3 years experiences or Master's Degree with 1 years of experiences
Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications as per DODI 1322.29
Experience with asset management database data entry and maintenance
Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Must currently possess an active DoD Secret Clearance
Environmental and Safety training
Able to address multiple issues simultaneously
Motivated self-starter driven by successful accomplishment of tasks
Able to communicate effectively with various personality types including government personnel and vendors
Flexible schedule in regards to holidays
Familiarity with Department of Defense asset control and property movement processes
Ability and willingness to perform many diverse tasks
Ability to use MS Office suite (Word, Power Point, Excel) and other software packages
Able to lift 40 lbs from ground level to overhead
Ability to create and follow standard processes and clearly document results
Experience with ITAR and international agreements
Received Unit Commander's approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge
Experience with software / technology development for academic and operational environments
Experience with VR/AR technology and applications for academic and operational environments
