Northrop Grumman Mgr Mission Assurance 2 in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Mission Assurance Manager 2 to join our team and be based out of our site in Colorado Springs, CO. This position will require some travel, up to 25% of the time. An active Secret Clearanceis required.

The MA Manager will lead a team of Mission Assurance Engineers that support a critical program ensuring continuous delivery of high quality products to the customer. The Mission Assurance Manager will plan and execute the Program's Mission Assurance plan using measurable goals and effectiveness criteria in support of the overall business strategy of the unit, division and sector. The Mission Assurance Manager reports to the Missile Defense Solutions Mission Assurance Business Unit Manager.

This position has senior leadership influence, acts as thought leader and requires a candidate with strong executive presence and decision-making skills with the ability to lead in an environment of ambiguity and continuous change.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes the professional development of the Mission Assurance workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.

  • Leverages comprehensive metrics, customer and employee feedback to assess program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission success.

  • Plans and manages department's manpower, budget and physical assets.

  • Plans and implements professional development and career management programs for site MA engineers.

  • Sets Mission Assurance strategy to ensure success of program in coordination with the customer.

  • Provides situational awareness and executive level communication both internally and externally.

  • Directs and coordinates all Mission Assurance functional disciplines including Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Quality Programs and Quality Systems perAS 9001 standards and other internal/external compliance standards and regulations.

  • Leads operations for the Mission Assurance function with geographically dispersed locations inclusive to administration of budgets, schedules, and performance standards as well as leading proposal efforts for the Mission Assurance team.

  • Assures compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process improvement, subcontractor and supplier quality in accordance with contractual requirements and drives forward early predictive indicators of risk.

MAQEA

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.

  • Five (5)+ years of experience in Mission Assurance Management, Software Test Management, Program Management, Engineering Management, Quality Management, or Systems Engineering.

  • Five (5)+ years of leadership experience.

  • Possess an ACTIVE Secret clearance with the ability to obtain as Top Secret. US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in an engineering field.

Three (3)+ years of experience in Software Development Programs.

Five (5)+ years of experience managing teams.

Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.

Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt certification to drive continuous improvement.

Demonstrated ability to apply strong analytical skills.

Experience with technical and project management.

Proven ability to be resourceful, well-organized, able to multi-task and coordinate assignments.

Leader in a team environment with exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
