Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO and will be part of the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program (Minuteman III ICBM replacement) development contract. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
You will get to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
Problem Solving: Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Discretion/Latitude: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long- term perspective, for desired results.
Impact: Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.
Liaison: Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You'll Bring These Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in engineering disciplines (STEM) from an accredited university + 9 years of related experience or Master's degree + 7 years or PhD + 4 years
Active DoD Secret clearance granted within the last 6 years
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience with Agile development
Experience with Scrum methodology
Scrum Master or Product Owner experience
Experience with DevOps
Modeling and Simulation Experience
Experience with Certification/Accreditation of Models and Simulations
Experience with requirements development
Experience with verification of software requirements
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with software and/or hardware interface definition
Experience with architecture modeling using Cameo
One or more of SysML, DoDAF or other related frameworks
Experience with requirements management using DOORS
Experience with Atlassian tool suite
Salary Minimum $114,080
Salary Maximum $171,120
