Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an experienced Traffic Coordinator to provide support to our Transportation/Logistics/Fleet team at our Clearfield, UT location.
Role description & Responsibilities:
The Traffic Coordinator is responsible to maintain all DOT Files and Records for the Clearfield, UT Locations. This position will also audit freight invoices and assign applicable charge codes. This position must be able to coordinate and dispatch move requests made by operations and assign these requests to the drivers.
Maintain DOT records for Clearfield, UT locations
Audit freight invoices to insure proper charge accounts are assigned and accurate
Experience with export shipments, including checking for export license requirements and export reporting to U.S. Census
Coordinate and schedule moves within the Transportation group to support operations
Process vehicle inspections and coordinate pickup to insure registrations are current
Provide support to Logistics, Fleet and Transportation groups and fill in when necessary
Act as a single point interface with internal employees and vendors to ensure on time inbound and outbound deliveries
Coordinate with internal employees and freight carriers to ensure temperature controlled material maintain specified conditions during the transportation process
Track and report performance and claims. Performing cost analysis on transportation expenses and recommending modifications to meet industry “best practice”
Complete required export documentation (commercial invoices, Airway Bill or Bill of Lading) and submit electronically through AES Direct. Manage and maintain record retain for all exports
Ensure compliance for all export transactions filed electronically through AES Direct
Perform clerical and physical tasks in connection with the shipping and receiving of hazardous cargo in accordance with DOT/IATA regulations, primarily through Fed Ex, UPS, USPS or other similar carriers
Ability to analyze both inbound and outbound shipments to combine loads and reduce cost
Develop and maintain various Key Performance Indicators (KPI) including; but not limited to; on-time delivery, cost effectiveness, etc.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED (education will be verified)
- Candidate must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in Logistics, Transportation or Fleet Coordination
Skills & Qualifications:
Candidate must have a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, and be proficient in Excel
Strong experience in export shipments, including checking for export license requirements and export reporting to U.S. Census required
Familiarity with commercial export documentation and the government regulations pertaining to export
Broad understanding of Logistic operations and invoice requirement required
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations required
Strong skills in customer services and ability to plan and manger resources required
Ability to understand and apply complex government shipping regulations
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
Experience in bidding shipping lanes
Experience obtaining and maintaining vehicle permits such as oversized load etc.
Knowledgeable of DOT rules and regulations that apply to driver files to insure compliance
Proficient in performing audits of freight invoices
Forklift experience preferred
ERP experience preferred
