Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Structural Engineer/Senior Principal Structural Engineer with MRB experience to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Clearfield, Utah on the C-shift.
C shift hours are Friday to Sunday 6AM - 6PM (3 days x 12 hours). You are paid the equivalent of 40 hours per week and are also eligible for an additional shift differential.
The MRB Structural Engineering team analyzes and determines suitability of nonconforming hardware in the final product to support the production line. Responsibilities:
Design repairs and determine engineering dispositions of nonconforming materials as part of the Material Review Board (MRB) process
Evaluate and resolve engineering related production problems related to manufacturing, design, quality, and material engineering
Analyze engineering specifications and drawings; confer with quality, material, manufacturing, and subcontractors to provide and acquire technical information; investigate reports of defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems; and reviews production schedules
Participate in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
Our team works closely with Systems, Manufacturing, M&P, and Analysis engineers in an integrated product team to support groundbreaking development and production activities. We work in a highly flexible environment and take initiative to tackle problems and drive issues to resolution. Our team is cooperative, eager to share information and elevate the team as a whole. This role may be filled at the Principal Engineer (level 3) or Senior Principal Engineer (level 4) based on the qualifications outlined below.
Basic Qualifications
Principal Structural Engineer: Bachelor of Science (BS) in a related Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or similar) and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR Master of Science (MS) in a related Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or similar) and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR Ph.D. in a related Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or similar)
Sr P rincipal Structural Engineer: Bachelor of Science (BS) in a related Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or similar) and 9 years of related professional/military experience; OR Master of Science (MS) in a related Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or similar) and 7 years of related professional/military experience; OR Ph.D. in a related Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or similar) and 4 years of related professional/military experience
MRB experience
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Ability to support a C shift schedule as noted above
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher)
Experience addressing manufacturing discrepancies through a formal MRB process
Experience supporting the production fabrication of composite and metallic structural details and assemblies
Functional knowledge of production control systems
Proficiency with NX and Teamcenter software

NOTE: The C shift offers a shift differential in addition to base pay .
Salary Range: $90,400 - $135,600
Salary Range 2: $112,000 - $168,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
