Northrop Grumman is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clearfield, Utah .

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provides daily management and direction to inspection and IBO staff utilizing management guidelines and general policies that fully engage our Quality Management System.

  • Collaborate with program managers, operations, engineering, customer, DCMA, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.

  • Determines the resources required for Mission Assurance inspection/IBO team.

  • Leads a team of inspectors on how to resolve issues during production inspection and how to interpret program specifications (Blue Book)

  • Help IBO personnel resolve issues that may arise during the creation of end item data packs and selling products to customers

  • Support the development of teams in the investigation of issues and non-conformances

  • Ensure throughput of team is maximized without sacrificing reliability and quality of the product

  • Drive process improvement ideas to implementation phase

  • Ensure Quality Assurance teams have the vital ISO training and OJT to perform their job functions efficiently and reliably

  • Ensure accurate development of employees (i.e. mentoring, career path development, etc.)

  • Perform semi-annual and annual employee reviews with team members, as well as 1:1 meetings

  • Have a clear understanding of how to provide transparent/candid feedback to employees as needed for performance improvement

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years applicable technical experience in one or more of the following areas: mission/quality assurance, supporting systems engineering, systems integration, data analytics, and other related engineering fields.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance and special program access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

  • Quality/Mission Assurance and/or process knowledge and understanding

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Solid understanding of the RCCA process and its application

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DOD Secret Security Clearance

  • Prior work experience in a fast-paced, variable environment. May require frequent overtime and weekend work

  • Solid understanding of AS9100, AS9102, AS9103 and NADCAP

  • Must have the ability to work well and collaborate with all departments on the program.

  • Solid understanding of both MES and MESX
