Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Associate Liaison Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clearfield Utah. You will be working to disposition discrepant hardware in a fast-paced production environment with exposure to a variety of engineering disciplines.

The selected candidate will participate in the following essential Functions:

  • Evaluates and resolves engineering related production problems related to manufacturing, design, quality and material engineering.

  • Analyzes engineering specifications and drawings; confers with quality, material, manufacturing and subcontractors to provide and obtain technical information; investigates reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment or systems; and reviews production schedules and orders.

  • Examines, measures, inspects or tests defective parts for conformance. Evaluates findings to formulate corrective actions.

  • Performing timely dispositions for nonconforming parts, assemblies, and installations working as part of a Material Review Board (MRB) process.

  • Collaborating with a team of engineers coordinating with multiple disciplines to determine solutions to problems quickly and efficiently.

The ideal candidate should be able to collaborate closely with system, manufacturing, design, and analysis engineers in an integrated product team to support cutting edge development and production activities. You are comfortable working in a highly-flexible environment. Needs may arise suddenly that could cause you to reprioritize work in real time. In support of the production floor we have a need for one second shift position and one weekend position. Second shift hours are Monday to Thursday 3PM - 1AM (4 days x 10 hours). Weekend shift hours are Friday to Sunday 6AM - 6AM (3 days x 12 hours).

This role may be filled at the Engineer or Principal Engineer level depending on the qualifications below.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Engineer Liaison

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2+ years relevant work experience

  • Active Secret DoD Clearance within 5 ½ years of last investigation

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a special program access clearance

  • Experience addressing manufacturing discrepancies through a formal MRB process

Principal Engineer Liaison

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5+ years relevant work experience

  • Active Secret DoD Clearance within 5 ½ years of last investigation

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a special program access clearance

  • Experience addressing manufacturing discrepancies through a formal MRB process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering

  • Prior composite fabrication experience and shop processes including: material layup, cure, trim, NDI, bonding, and assembly

  • Experience supporting the production fabrication of composite and metallic structural assemblies

  • Functional knowledge of detail and assembly repair techniques for both composite and metallic parts

  • Functional knowledge of production control systems (SAP/Visual Mfg/etc)

  • Microsoft Office applications, Teamcenter, and NX10
