Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking College Interns to work full time in the summer of 2018.Come join our team of new graduates and experienced professionals, collaborating to achieve our goals.The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) Program, which is a 13 year, $2B program, responsible for providing end-to-end IT Infrastructure to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Individuals will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on the VITA program within the Service Portfolio Management Organization. The position is located in Chester, VA.It's unique work. Roles and Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform entry level professional duties of moderate difficulty providing the opportunity for professional training in project management, asset management, configuration management, service management, reporting and software development. Assignments serve to offer practical experience and broad exposure to program, project, and technical disciplines. Opportunities to shadow/mentor existing employees allow the candidate to develop relationship skills and learn first-hand from experienced professionals.

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Minimum of 3.25 GPA and enrolled an accredited university in pursuit of a degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology or other related field of study at an accredited college or university

  • Obtained at least Junior level status in a Bachelor degree program or be enrolled in Graduate degree program

  • Strong ability to interact and communicate with stakeholders at different levels within the organization

  • Must be a team player, proactive, and possess excellent problem solving

  • Candidate must be highly organized

  • Strong oral and written communication skills (a writing sample may be required)

  • Be able to deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines, and be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be a US citizen able to obtain a security clearance

  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated project management experience

  • A understanding of statistical and analytical principles

  • Knowledge/experience in any of the following:

  • .NET and/or SQL Server development tools

  • SQL Server tool set (SSRS, SSIS, SSMS, SSAS)

  • Team Foundation Server

  • SMTP (E-mail Transfer Protocol)

  • Remote Desktop Services

  • VMWare Service Manager (VSM)
