Northrop Grumman Quality Analyst 2 in Charlottesville, Virginia
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Quality Analyst 2 to become part of Northrop Grumman's Mission Assurance (MA) organization located at our site in Charlottesville, Virginia. This position will be a member of the program mission assurance team responsible for program specifications, requirements, and processes to ensure mission success on assigned programs. This location offers a 9/80 schedule.
Interface with program management, supply chain, contracts, engineering, and manufacturing functions to ensure that effective quality standards are in place and that quality products are delivered to customers. Establish positive working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Provide guidance and support to projects on quality, risk management, and regulatory requirements. Implement the mission assurance quality management plan on assigned programs. Ensure that project and process control are compliant with requirements, objectives, and contracts.
Review and interpret contractual documents, regulations, and procedures to implement quality related requirements and to support audits. This review includes applicable specifications, standards, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Accurately apply quality requirements as flow downs to shop orders, purchase requisitions, and/or subcontracts.
Perform source inspections and supplier audits. Audit internal processes for deficiency identification and correction. Identify root cause and ensure that corrective actions are implemented. Corrective measures must meet acceptable reliability standards and documentation must be compliant with requirements.
Disposition manufactured and procured material with material defect occurrences. Initiate and track to closure defects and corrective actions both internally and with suppliers. Process and disposition material review board actions. Represent quality on configuration/change control boards.
Develop, modify, apply, and maintain standards for quality processes, systems, and procedures, as needed. Conduct assessments/reviews on program plans, processes, and documentation. Witness testing, verification, and validation of product. Interface with program teams, auditors, and the quality representatives of both customers and suppliers. Serve as the primary liaison for customer source inspections and test witnessing events.
Possess good interpersonal skills to successfully interface with diverse groups or individuals. Be able to prioritize, manage time efficiently, and work with minimal direction. Operate as a proactive self-starter with problem-solving skills and earn a reputation of responsiveness.
A bachelor's with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a quality assurance, mission assurance, or related experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Computer literate in PC applications, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Demonstrated abilityto communicate in both written and verbal formats across functionsand management levels .
Bachelor's degree in a STEM related discipline with a minimum of 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance, mission assurance, or related experience.
Experience working with mechanical design requirements and specifications.
Experience with mechanical, manufacturing, or quality.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Knowledge of statistical process control, data visualization, and/or measurement analysis methods.
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Auditor and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
Previous experience in a DoD environment or with a DoD provider of products and services.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
Knowledge of SAP system.
Certified in Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies or experience in root cause analysis and corrective action.
Understanding of continuous improvement principles.
Certified on IPC-620 and/or IPC-610.
Qualified for NDT Visual Testing or Liquid Penetrant Testing Inspection.
Proactive self-starter with demonstrated problem-solving skills and responsiveness.
Can be trusted to work with minimal direction.
Previous experience with Maritime Systems products and services.
