Northrop Grumman College Intern Technical in Charlotte, North Carolina

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to multifunctional teams with goals of optical fabrication process development and improvements in the areas of precision polishing, grinding, and shaping

  • Assist manufacturing engineers with process controls, data collections, documentation of manufacturing process

  • Perform a variety of research and testing for development of production processes

  • Assist manufacturing engineers in various projects to improve product flow, tooling organization and standardization

  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment, and design machine/tooling upgrades using CAD software

  • Learn various manufacturing processes and gather data to optimize fabrication, design, and test new tooling increased for productivity

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have completed a minimum of two years of college study in pursuit of an engineering or science degree

  • Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with lab equipment and familiarity with common machine shop tools

  • Self-motivated individual with a desire to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment

  • Good written and verbal communication skills desired
