Are you ready to start a new mission? Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer . This uniquely qualified and mission oriented individual will have a background in electronics, RF engineering, electronic system design, integration, and maintenance, signal intelligence (SIGINT), electronic warfare (EW) and several years of field experience to perform OCONUS/CONUS mission/maintenance support, development, integration, and test of in-house and field-deployed EW products.
This position can be based Chantilly, VA or Morrisville, NC .
What you'll be doing in this role:
Closely interface with the customer and system operators in planning, maintenance and operation of fielded equipment.
Provide highly technical professional implementation of products, as well as customer furnished equipment, to solve customer problems with a focus toward real-time mission support.
Support will include field testing of selected equipment and software. While not deployed, you will support lab activities including integration and test. And conduct training in both formal and informal environments.
This position can be filled at a level 3 or 4. See basic qualifications below.
What basic qualifications you will need to have:
Requires deployment to overseas and military theatres for extended periods (60 to 90 days at a time on a rotating basis). Candidates must be willing to work extended hours during mission critical time periods.
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
Level 3 basic qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years, Or 3 years with Masters; or 0 years with PhD. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree.
Level 4 basic qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of 9 years, or 7 years with Masters; or 4 years with PhD. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree.
Work related experience should include integration, field support and implementation of electronic/communications systems.
Experience with RF troubleshooting and avionics integration
Our preferred qualifications:
Knowledge of GSM, CDMA, Satcom, UMTS, WiFi, & LTE,
Able to work with minimal supervision and support.
Excellent oral and written communications skills; strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills; and proficiency with various types of test equipment and software packages.
Military experience desirable, SOCOM experience preferred
Master's degree in an Engineering discipline
Experience using ANRITSU product suite
Previous experience within Special Operations Command
Experience with Aircraft Electronic Warfare payload integration
Previous austere environment travel experience (OCONUS Travel)
Technical Writing experience
